Participating in a spring mini session this year? Need some inspo on outfits or prompts? Questioning yourself what will actually happen in such a short time frame? No need to worry most photographers have been doing this for some time now and have it down to a T.
I know short sessions can be intimidating at first, you might be thinking how in the world am I gonna get 15-20 amazing images out of a 20 minute session. Just know that they are fast paced and a lot of images will be taken. I love using fun prompts like big bear hug or run around and play tag for the little ones. I start with the stationary group pics, pportraits you might like for professional use but then I move on to the fun ones!

Families during minis are perfect, especially if you have older grandparents or very young children with short attention spans. I always try and accommodate my prompts to everyone so no one feels left out or singled out due to some random thing in their life they can't change.
A great way to dress your family is by wearing things that are similar instead of all the same thing. Most of the time colors are the perfect place to start, I usually suggest the mom or whoever is a fashionista to pick their outfit out first then everyone find something that would fit with it.

I have had many seniors during my mini sessions and I think this is a great way to get senior photos and save a little money! I have noticed that some seniors love the longer sessions and hanging out with me while others are only present for a short period of time then want to go home. These seniors love the mini session because they feel like it wasn't a waist of time and that they have amply amount of time in the day to do as they wish.
What I normally suggest to seniors to wear is something they feel comfortable in first and that most of the time it's easier to get multiple different backgrounds wearing solid colors versus prints.

Even soon to be mommas love taking advantage of minis! Most outfits with maternity work with flowing things that are easy to fold around the belly or twirl around for some movement. Plus I love it when mommas bring their other kids and get some adorable family portraits with their soon to be sibling!
